「Pre-University English」系列

- The new HKDSE format is a most difficult challenge for both upper secondary students and their teachers. Moreover, students do not seem to have good knowledge of the formats that are used in the new examination.

- In view of this, the authors decided to write a series called "Pre-University English". The series consists of four books: Paper 1 Reading, Paper 2 Writing, Paper 3 Listening & Integrated Skills, and Paper 4 Speaking. The main features of the series, which is different from its counterparts, include:

◊ 1. MARKING SCHEMES which simulate the ones released by the HKEAA,

◊ 2. INTRODUCTORY CHAPTERS which reveal the essential TECHNIQUES FOR DOING DIFFERENT PARTS of PAPERS,

◊ 3. SAMPLE ESSAYS FOR BOTH TASK 1 AND TASK 2 OF PAPER 2 for each set, and

◊ 4. SAMPLE ANSWERS FOR THE EXTENDED TASKS OF PAPER 3 for each set.

◊ 5. MOCK DISCUSSIONS for each set of the Speaking paper, including USEFUL VOCABULARY AND PHRASES for easy reference and revision. SUGGESTED ANSWERS to selected Individual Response questions are also provided.

Pre-university English Proofreading Exercises for HKDSE and HKALE

- Previously called "Proofreading for HKALE English and for Demanding HKCEE students", this reprinted version is not just a simple proofreading exercise book. It is intended to fulfil the desire of those students who want to be challenged by a more difficult level of English grammar and usage. Despite this, students with a lower English standard can also benefit.

- Students can improve their grammar by doing the exercises and learning from the detailed explanatory notes which include ample examples to illustrate the correct usage of some difficult grammar and vocabulary items, such as "rise, "raise" and "arise".

- 原名為「Proofreading for HKALE English and for Demanding HKCEE students」，專為滿足欲挑戰更高難度英語文法及運用的同學編寫，並非一本普通的校對題（proofreading）練習。書內各練習均附詳細答案解釋，並提供大量例子闡明不同文法和詞彙項的正確用法，如「rise」、「raise」及「arise」，故英語程度稍低的同學也能藉此提升文法水平，有所得益。
